Terms and Conditions for Your Dream Surf Livin’ Surf Retreat & Surf Lesson

Welcome to Dream Surf Livin’.

Please read the Terms and Conditions for our Dream Surf Livin’ (DSL) surf retreats and Surf Lesson in Indonesia carefully, as they form the basis of the contract between you (including all participants of your booking, further referred to as ‘you’) and Dream Surf Livin’ (further referred to as ‘we’ or ‘us’) and set out the respective rights and obligations of both parties.

1. TRAVEL AND FLIGHTS

  1. We recommend you don’t book your flights before your spot on your booked Dream Surf Livin’ surf retreat has been confirmed.
  2. You are responsible to check the current travel restrictions and entry requirements for Indonesia such as visas, vaccinations, and quarantine for your specific country of origin before booking. Please consult with your embassy and Indonesian immigration well in advance to find out which rules apply to you.
  3. Upon entry into Indonesia, all passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
  4. Dream Surf Livin’ will not, in any case, be held responsible for any incidental expenses that may have been incurred because of your booking, including (but not limited to) visa costs, vaccinations, quarantine costs, travel insurance or non-refundable flights.
  5. Dream Surf Livin’ is not responsible for airline surfboard fees or baggage policies, delay, non-arrival or loss of surfboards/surfboard bags or any other luggage.
  6. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

2. PAYMENTS

  1. A deposit in the amount of 50% of the total surf retreat and surf lesson price is payable at the time of your booking.
  2. Deposits are non-refundable and will be used to secure your spot.
  3. Final payment of the full package price must be made 14 days before the start date of your booked surf retreat.
  4. Payment may be made via bank transfer or online payment such as Wise or PayPal.
  5. Any form of payment constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions stated on this site.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

Surf Retreat

  1. Cancellation of your booked surf retreat must be done a minimum of 60 days before the start date of your booked surf retreat. In that case, we will credit 100% of your payment toward a future Dream Surf Livin’ surf retreat within one year of the original booking.
  2. If you choose to cancel between 60 and 31 days before the start date of your booked surf retreat, you will be charged 25%
  3. If you choose to cancel between 15 and 30 days before the start date of your booked surf retreat, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of your total surf retreat price.
  4. If you choose to cancel 14 days or less before the start date of your booked surf retreat, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of your total retreat package price.
  5. There shall be no refunds or partial refunds payable for No Shows, if you arrive late or leave early, missed or delayed flights, ferry or (charter) boat, from a designated charter, for injury, poor surf conditions, bad weather or other force majeure events, including (but not limited to) floods, earthquakes, tsunami, or volcano eruptions. Additionally, no refunds shall be given for cancellations due to political instability on a local, national, or global level that does not directly pose a threat to the safe operations of our surf trips.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel surf retreats or change the schedule prior to its start for reasons including (but not limited to) insufficient bookings (minimum 8 guests), operational reasons, illness, bad weather, or unsafe surf conditions. If we cancel your surf retreat prior to its start for any of those stated reasons other than force majeure events, we will fully credit your payment toward a future Dream Surf Livin’ surf retreat within one year of the original booking or refund 100% of your payment. If we have to cancel your surf retreat prior to its start due to force majeure events including (but not limited to) floods, earthquakes, tsunami, volcano eruptions, or political instability, no refund or credit shall be given. We highly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover such unexpected, unplanned, rare but possible events.
  7. Dream Surf Livin’ will not, in any case, be held responsible for any incidental expenses that may have been incurred because of your booking, including but not limited to visa costs, vaccinations, travel insurance or non-refundable flights.
  8. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any guest who is rude to any member of our team or other guests. No kind of bullying or harassment will be accepted.

Surf Lesson

  1. Your surf lessons package is valid for 90 days counts by the first day of your starting date.
  2. Cancellation of your surf lesson must be done no later than 12 hours before your scheduled surf session. In that case, we can reschedule your surf lesson to an alternative date within one week of the original booking.
  3. If you choose to cancel your surf lesson less than 12 hours before your booked session, you will be charged 100% of the original booking price. If you purchased a surf lesson package, the surf lesson will be counted as taken.
  4. There shall be no refunds or partial refunds payable for No Shows, if you arrive late or leave early, for injury, poor surf conditions, bad weather or other force majeure events, including (but not limited to) floods, earthquakes, tsunami, or volcano eruptions. Additionally, no refunds shall be given for cancellations due to political instability on a local, national, or global level that does not directly pose a threat to the safe operations of our surf experiences.
  5. We reserve the right to cancel surf lessons or change the schedule prior to its start for reasons including (but not limited to) operational reasons, illness, bad weather, or unsafe surf conditions. If we cancel your surf lesson prior to its start for any of those stated reasons other than force majeure events, we will fully credit your payment and reschedule your surf lesson. If we have to cancel your surf lesson prior to its start due to force majeure events including (but not limited to) floods, earthquakes, tsunami, volcano eruptions, or political instability, no refund or credit shall be given. We highly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover such unexpected, unplanned, rare but possible events.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any guest who is rude to any member of our team or other guests. No kind of bullying or harassment will be accepted.

3.1 SPECIAL COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY

  1. If you need to cancel your booking at any point before the start date of your booked surf retreat because of reasons related to COVID-19, such as border closures, changed quarantine requirements, new travel restrictions, or a positive COVID-19 test result (in which case you are required to provide proof of a positive COVID-19 test result) you will have two options:
    1. You can postpone your surf retreat reservation and apply 100% of your payment toward a future Dream Surf Livin’ surf retreat within one year of your original booking. -OR-
    2. We will refund your paid total amount minus a 25% administrative fee of your full surf retreat price.
  2. Exception: We advise you to check Indonesia’s current entry requirements and travel restrictions for your specific country of origin before booking. If the entry requirements and travel restrictions at the time of your booking are the same as at the start date of your surf retreat, they will not be accepted as a reason for cancellation within the special COVID-19 cancellation policy. The usual cancellation policy as stated in paragraph 3 will apply.

4. LIABILITY RELEASE FORM

  1. Guests participate in activities and use services at our Dream Surf Livin’ surf retreat at their own risk. Dream Surf Livin’ and our travel partners do not assume any responsibility for those inherent risks which may cause unfortunate accidents or incidents during ordinary travel conditions. Dream Surf Livin’ will not be held responsible for injury, death, damage, loss, delay, cost, expense, or inconvenience arising from travel misfortunes beyond our control. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance.
  2. You are required to provide your personal information at the time of booking (full name, DOB, passport number of your entire party) and sign the liability release form before your surf retreat, which we will provide you in a separate document. Should you fail to provide your accurate personal information and to sign the liability release form prior to the start of your booked surf retreat, you will not be allowed to join the surf retreat. The above cancellation policy stated in paragraph 3 will apply.

5. PHOTO AND VIDEO USAGE

  1. We frequently take photos and videos of guests, both adults and under 16’s. We reserve the right to use these in our brochures, on our website, on our social media channels, and in any other promotional material. If you don’t wish for Dream Surf Livin’ to use your or your child’s photo and/or video material, please notify our team by email at hi@dreamsurfliving.com. We will exclude your photos/videos and/or remove any of your image material already used as quickly as possible.

6. EQUIPMENT POLICY

  1. Once the surf equipment is handed over to you, all responsibilities belong to you. Should you damage or lose the surf equipment, you will be charged the amount it costs to repair or replace it.
    1. Minor damages, such as a small ding, will be charged between IDR 150.000 and IDR 500.000.
    2. Major damages and loss, such as losing a fin, partial or full snaps of the board, loss of the surfboard or other surf equipment, or similar, will be charged between IDR 600.000 and IDR 2.800.000.

By booking a surf retreat & surf lessons with Dream Surf Livin’ you confirm on behalf of all persons named in your booking that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions provided and agree to them in full.
